We've Gone Virtual!

The Joy of Reading Celebration is going virtual! Meet your favorite authors virtually, coming this March!

We look forward to hosting The Almost Epic Squad!

The Joy of Reading Celebration was inspired by the Forest of Reading; Canada's largest literacy event for young readers. Karen Upper, Itinerant Librarian for the Near North District School Board, recognized the need for this type of celebration in the Almaguin Highlands.

Turning a Vision into Reality

Ms. Upper, has always encouraged a passion for reading in her young patrons, but she knew there was more to be done! When she shared her vision for a celebration of reading with six Librarians in the Almaguin Highlands, the Joy of Reading Celebration was born!

Huge thank you to: Burk's Falls, Armour, & Ryerson Union Public Library, Perry Township Library, Sundridge Public Library, South River Public Library, and the Powassan Public Library

Here for years to come...

The Joy of Reading Celebration encourages people of all ages to get excited about reading!

Our Mission is to further encourage reading by making the Joy of Reading Celebration an annual event for communities within the Almaguin Highlands.
